We first visited Gog and Magog in the late 1980s, when both trees were still alive and, although obviously very old, seemed healthy. After a break of nearly 20 years, we went back to see them this autumn and were sad to see how old and decrepit they are looking. We knew that Gog had died but were surprised to see how much Magog had also changed, given that they have been there 2000 years!
