  • Sadly, this wonderful ancient oak tree, in the grounds of Chatelherault park, has been vandalised and set on fire sometime last year. The good news is -it's still alive! I visited it today and there are green shoots inside the blackened hollow..... Let us hope it has a few lives left, and continues to grow and flourish after many hundreds of years, for a good few more.
