English Oak. Maiden tree with one huge bough growing out to the east. Girth now is 6.2m
This tree has been dropping immature sessile acorns on their stems recently, hundreds of them. Mature sessile acorns are also present on this tree
When immature acorns are dropped on sessile oak it is usually down to environmental factors such as draught but June drop is also common on sessile oaks. The remaining acorn that is left on the end of the stem resembles a pedunculate acorn but it is not on a peduncle .
I believe this tree is sessile oak.
Possibly hydrid, Quercus x rosacea.
