This tree is already recorded under Tree Preservation Order No. 176 of 1994 on the Stafford Borough Council’s own system. The Stafford Borough Council has indicated that the original documentation cannot currently be located. They have said: “Having looked at the records, it appears that although a TPO (from 1994) is showing on the system, we were unable to locate any information for this tree unfortunately, therefore no TPO applies.” However, the absence of paperwork does not remove the legal status of a TPO unless it has been formally revoked or replaced, which has not been evidenced. Shocking how the Stafford Borough Council is acting.
