I have since found out that this tree is referred to in the book Running For The Hills by Horatio Clare who lived on the farm as a child. In an interview in Broadleaf magazine he says ... 'It is a most extraordinary tree partly for its position high above the Cwmdu valley with a view across the Brecon Beacons'. Bruce McDonald
Owen Johnson states: By track to Llewenau, E of Cwmdu. Low pollard habit; hollow with a gap. Recorded by Bruce McDonald in 2016 and by Edgar Voogt in monumentaltrees.com in 2017. The tree is mentioned in 'Running for the Hills' by Horatio Clare, who grew up on the farm here. (Tree was duplicate recorded so deletred 27-04-2023 RMcB.
