This tree may be the tallest Wellingtonia in the South-East, at 48m high. There are Douglas Firs on the edge of Polecat Copse to the S. that are even taller - up to 53m !
One of the tallest trees in Surrey at about 46m (difficult to measure). The Giant Sequoia next to it was even taller in 2000 but has since died back badly.
I visited Polecat Copse today, stunning trees. Unfortunately I didn't get to the two massive Giant Sequoias by foot, but I saw them as I drove past.
