  • A truely magnificent vase of foliage - quite possibly the largest British specimen. Despite a significant lean over a busy intersection of the London South Circular, and several applications to reduce its size as a result, this tree has been retained thanks to its TPO and the Dulwich Society.

  • As of 24 August 2010 this tree has been cut down, only approximately 4-5 meters of the trunk remains. I don't yet know the reason but intend to find out more from the Dulwich Estate. Very sad to see it gone - a truely magnificent tree.

  • Luckily, it looks like it is bouncing back as a high pollard: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.4419042,-0.0843537,3a,90y,282.76h,108.51t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sNUlLPLqT6saCM3qiU4tlUQ!2e0!7i16384!8i8192 -
